BSG’s ‘Designer Membership’ package has been developed specifically for Architects and Designers who need support in fulfilling their Health and Safety duties included within the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)

Designer Membership

What our designer membership package includes

  • Guidance and advice in your role as Designer in relation to health and safety at the pre-construction phase of your projects
  • Advising you on your duties to ensure that other duty holders have the relevant skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to fulfil the role that they are appointed to undertake, in a manner that secures the health and safety of any person affected by your projects
  • Guidance and advice in your role as Designer in identifying, obtaining and collating pre-construction information
  • Guidance and advice in your role in providing pre-construction information to other duty holders
  • Guidance and advice on taking into account the general principles of prevention when preparing or modifying a design
  • Advising you to ensure that you have allocated sufficient time and other resources so construction work can be carried out, so far as is reasonably practicable, without risks to the health and safety of any person affected by your projects
  • Advice on co-ordinating and communicating with others to provide clear information on how to control any remaining risks. This may include other temporary and permanent works designers, who should themselves co-operate to ensure that their designs are compatible with others
  • Guidance and advice in the preparation of suitable and sufficient Health and Safety Files for your projects where appropriate
  • Access to a suite of Designer’s documents including templates and industry best practice guidance
  • Guidance and advice in relation to the Building Safety Act 2022
