Highlights of results from latest HSE blitz
HSE Inspectors visited 1748 ‘targeted’ refurbishment sites during a 4 week period that commenced on 22nd October. The results are published on the HSE website but these are the headline figures;
1748 sites inspected
2180 contractors inspected
Poor standards were found on 40% of these sites (691 sites)
35% of the issues were health related (dust, noise, vibration, asbestos, etc.)
753 notices of contravention were issued
313 prohibition notices were issued
235 improvement notices were issued
In addition to Principal Contractors and Contractors, other duty holders were also served notices and are being prosecuted.
